Hank’s Café (11)
1038 Nuuanu Avenue. Colorful, friendly bar with a South Seas ambience plus art gallery featuring original paintings by owner Hank Taufaasau. Hank's Chinatown Chili ranks with the best and he's also brought back his ono-licious pita sandwiches -- or you can just eat the stuffings without the bread! Live entertainment at night includes music and comedians. Open Monday – Friday noon to 2 am, Saturday 5 pm to 2 am. Closed Sunday.
Duc’s Bistro (13)
Top of Maunakea in first block before Beretania Street. Vietnamese/French menu, full bar and late night jazz. Casual elegance.
Indigo Restaurant (16)
1121 Nuuanu Avenue. Eurasian menu. Beautiful setting, where Hawaii elite meet. Lunch and Dinner. Live entertainment, garden bar, indoor and outdoors dining. Valet parking in evenings.
Hawaii Theatre Center (17)
1130 Bethel Street. Multi-purpose performance theatre. Ticket information: 528-0506. Proclaimed as the "Pride of the Pacific", the theatre opened in 1922 as a showplace for vaudeville, plays, musicals and silent films. In May 1996, the theatre reopened, following years of disuse and a complete restoration. It is listed on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
